Student Handbook


Furman University is a learning community enriched by the wide variety of experiences and perspectives of its students. To support and enhance this environment, we have developed a set of well-defined policies, procedures and regulations that outline our expectations for all students, including undergraduate day students, undergraduate evening students and graduate students. We believe these guidelines promote the greater good, and ensure that every student has the ability to pursue their academic goals. All other inquiries concerning nondiscrimination involving students not addressed in this Policy may be referred to Furman University’s Vice President for Student Life, Connie Carson. Employees with inquiries concerning nondiscrimination not addressed in this Policy may contact Human Resources. Human Resources  is located at 5013 Old Buncombe Road, Suite D. Members of the community may also report concerns regarding discrimination using the Campus Conduct Hotline at 866-943-5787 or at: humanresources@furman.edu. In the event an incident involves alleged misconduct by the Title IX and ADA/Section 504 Coordinator, reports may be made directly to Ms. Connie Carson (for students) or to the AVP for Human Resources (for employees).
