FST-365 Film Directors and Movements

GER: VP (Visual and Performing Arts)
An examination of the art film and important art film directors and movements. The course looks at the films of some of the main directors and film movements, both inside and outside of Hollywood, that contributed unique techniques related to storytelling and the construction of the filmic image. Directors and movements include Ingmar Bergman, Alfred Hitchcock, Akira Kurosawa, Federico Fellini, Jean-Luc Godard, Agnes Varda, Pedro Almodóvar, Spike Lee, Wong Kar Wai, Italian Neorealism, the French New Wave, the Czech New Wave, and Dogme 95. 4 credits.
