FYW-1260 Tudor-Stuart Texts The era saw significant social changes alongside political & religious revolutions. Because the rise of print culture enabled a pulp press, popular polemics, regular news reporting, and a famous “Renaissance” in literary and dramatic works that recorded these changes, this seminar will focus on literary and/or historical analysis and interpretation of texts from the 16th and 17th centuries to help students understand some of the significant cultural changes that anticipate the modern world. Students will study and write about these ideas in ways structured to develop interpretive, analytical, and argumentative writing skills appropriate for college-level work.
