FYW-1296 Picturing Slavery: Writing Slave Lives Uncovering the story of America’s enslaved past. Students will assist in uncovering the life and times of America’s first black female novelist, Hannah Bond. We will also do original research discovering the story behind seven enslaved men and women from Columbia, South Carolina, whose naked photographs were first discovered in the attic of The Peabody Museum in 1976. Focus includes archival research, a logical argument, using textual evidence, and writing mechanics. 4 credits.
