The course examines how human groups in antiquity navigated their landscapes, and how this influenced their perception of the environment and their interactions with it. Topics include: the origins of geography and astronomy, technologies of navigation, travel and storytelling, imperial geographies, ancient utopias, tourism in antiquity. 4 credits.
