CLS-212 Geography and Travel in the Ancient Mediterranean Catalog GER: NE (Natural Environment) and TA (Analysis of Texts) The course examines how human groups in antiquity navigated their landscapes, and how this influenced their perception of the environment and their interactions with it. Topics include: the origins of geography and astronomy, technologies of navigation, travel and storytelling, imperial geographies, ancient utopias, tourism in antiquity. 4 credits.
