This course explores (in translation) Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey, two narrative epic poems that are widely understood to form the basis of classical tradition since antiquity. Students will employ close textual analysis and various forms of literary interpretation as they immerse themselves in the cultural imaginary of the Greeks. 4 credits.
