Accounting, Post-Baccalaureate Certificate


Professionals, who have already completed a bachelor’s degree, will gain a solid foundation in accounting theory and practice. The program serves to provide accounting coursework to professionals in three categories:

  • Professionals in need of accounting coursework to satisfy educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam.
  • Professionals who desire more accounting knowledge in order to enhance their professional skill set for promotion and professional advancement.
  • Professionals who desire a career change to accounting or a related field.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, a student must:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four year institution with a minimum GPA of 2.50.
  • Admissions meeting with the Director of Undergraduate Evening Studies.
  • Submit a Furman University Application for Admission and $35 application fee.
  • Submit official transcripts from all institutions attended.
  • Submit a copy of an updated resume.

Post-baccalaureate students are not eligible for scholarships, state or federal financial aid. Tuition is calculated per credit hour.

Course credits earned appear on official Furman University transcripts and are reflected in cumulative GPA calculations. The completion of required courses is represented as a Postbaccalaureate Certificate in Accounting. Program graduates will receive a certificate diploma.
