To graduate with a major in neuroscience, a student must have an overall grade point average of at least 2.00 in all courses required for the major.

A major in neuroscience consists of 18 courses and must include:
At least one course addressing molecular components:
At least one course focusing on physiological elements:
At least one course considering behavioral aspects:
At least one additional course from the molecular, physiological or behavioral groups or any of the following:

Students will be advised in the selection of courses to ensure a balanced representation of suitable disciplines and focus in a particular area of interest. Furthermore, it is expected students will complete PSY-320 no later than the conclusion of the sophomore year and BIO-460 during the junior year. None of the courses a student uses as electives for the neuroscience major may also count toward another major.
On occasion, special topics courses are offered that also satisfy the requirements for the major.
