• two credits of performance topics

Candidates for the B.M. degree enroll in additional courses consistent with their major.

A theory major must include:

• MUS-310 Form and Analysis
• MUS-311 Composition
• MUS-312 Orchestration

• MUS-313 Modal Counterpoint or
• MUS-410 Tonal Counterpoint

• MUS-411 Contemporary Styles and Techniques
• MUS-412 Senior Project
• at least 16 credits of performance studies, including at least one course each in strings, brass, percussion and woodwinds
• four credits of music electives numbered between 300 and 499
• at least four more credits in other music electives.
