Music Theory, B.M.

All music majors include:

seven semesters of:

MUS-050 Recital Attendance (required attendance at a specified number of approved concerts and recitals)

and, participation each semester students are on campus in at least one major ensemble group:

A theory major must also include:

MUS-310 Form and Analysis
MUS-311 Composition
MUS-312 Orchestration
MUS-313 Modal Counterpoint or
MUS-410 Tonal Counterpoint
MUS-411 Contemporary Styles and Techniques
MUS-412 Senior Project
at least 16 credits of performance studies, including at least one course each in strings, brass, percussion and woodwind instruments
four credits of music electives numbered between 300 and 499
and, at least four more credits in other music electives.
