CHM-410 Quantum Chemistry Prerequisite: CHM-310 and MTH-160 The first quarter of the course is an exploration of the origins of quantum theoretical concepts and formalisms. The second quarter presents applications to systems that can be solved exactly (model systems and H atom). The remaining half presents various computational methods used to find suitable approximate solutions for more complex real chemical systems (valence theory). 2 credits.
