• two credits of performance topics

Candidates for the B.M. degree enroll in additional courses consistent with their major.

A composition major must include:

• MUS-310 Form and Analysis
• MUS-311 Composition
• MUS-312 Orchestration
• MUS-314 Projects in Music Technology
• MUS-411 Contemporary Styles & Techniques
• MUS-412 Senior Project

• MUS-313 Modal Counterpoint or
• MUS-410 Tonal Counterpoint

• at least 12 credits of performance studies, including at least one course each in strings, brass, percussion and woodwinds
• at least six credits in composition or independent study, which must include acoustic and electro-acoustic music
• four credits of music electives.
