PSY-404 Autism Prerequisite: PSY-211 and PSY-202 or BIO-222 Historical and contemporary theory and scientific research related to autism are examined. Areas of focus include biological and environmental underpinnings of the disorder, aspects of cognition and social development that are affected, and current interventions. An important part of the course is discussion with area experts who specialize in autism. Lab sessions focus on engagement with the local autism community. 4 credits.
