SOC-233 Sociology of Religion Prerequisite: SOC-101 Analysis of the role of religion, as an institution, in the social world. Focus will be at both the organizational, how religious groups form and grow, and the individual, how religion may influence or impact particular behaviors, levels. Most of the substantive material will center on religion in the United States, although some discussions of other contexts, as a comparison, will be made. This course will not address the philosophical truth or validity of particular religious beliefs. 4 credits.
