SDG-604 Type Exploration

This course will build upon theoretical and applied foundations. Students will explore, and then refine knowledge of graphic design and typography from an evolving hybrid of multi-literacies – mastery that’s part creative, part technical, yet deeply theoretical in visual perception. Topics will include: Gestalt principles, Type fundamentals, Function vs. Aesthetics, Point/Line/Plane, Rhythm and balance, Scale, Hierarchy and color. 3 credits.
