Examination of the historical and contemporary
roles of mass communication in connection to
political crises, wars, and terrorism (topics
range from WWI to ISIS’ use of social media).
Students will learn about pertinent theories and
methodologies that guide the research of these
topics. Furthermore, students will critically
reflect on production and consumption of
political violence-related media content.
