MUS-220 Music and Culture

Prerequisite: MUS-211
A scholarly exploration of music as, and within, human culture. Through critical listening/reading, practical musical experiences, and a diverse range of guest lectures, this course will utilize a polystylistic framework to examine the act of music-making not only as artistic expression, but also as a socio-cultural product and commodity. 4 credits.
