POL-219 Crime and Policing


GER: HB (Human Behavior)
Prerequisite: POL-101
This course offers a theoretical, empirical, and normative study of crime policy and law enforcement in the U.S. Students will come away from this course with a deeper understanding of why our society punishes, whether some communities suffer disproportionate punishment, and how crime policy is made and enforced. Students will also learn about alternatives to current crime policies and law enforcement methods. 4 credits.
