MXP-211 Thinkertoys: Co-Ed Scrapbooks as Alt Histories

This course will intersect the historical scholarship on scrapbooking as democratic resistance with the Furman archival ephemera in order to document Greenville Women’s College students’ experience and reflect on current Furman student memory. We will read secondary sources on commonplace books and scrapbooks especially as it pertains to marginalized people’s memories and comb through the archive for similar clues. May Experience only. 2 credits.
