MTH-314 Problem Solving in Mathematics Prerequisite: MTH-160 and MTH-260 An introduction to the art of problem-solving in mathematics. Students of this course will experience mathematics as a creative human endeavor, as an experimental and inductive experience. This course will promote writing, oral presentation, and collaborative and independent thinking. We will study problems from various areas of mathematics. These areas could include algebra, analysis (calculus), combinatorics, game theory, graph theory, logic, number theory, and probability. 4 credits.
