MXP-137 Doubt: Public Skepticism & Mistrust of Institution A transdisciplinary exploration of Americans’ descent into a new toxic skepticism toward public institutions and each other. Students will identify and distinguish between the basic branches of skepticism, and discuss the erosion of public trust in our fundamental institutions, such as religion, science, education, elections, and news media. Students will put into practice rhetorical listening and civil discourse strategies so they can thoughtfully engage with and respond to skeptical arguments. May Experience ONLY. 2 credits.
