MUS-329 Perspectives and Practices in Band Auxiliaries


Students would gain hands-on experience learning fundamentals, history, and pedagogy of colorguard (dance, flag, rifle, sabre) as it relates to the visual contributions to a marching band. Students will learn technique, design considerations for choreography and show construction, and instruction. Through study of historical context and current trends in the activity, students will be able to collaborate with others to construct marching program shows. Activities include practical instruction, observation of marching programs, and hands-on design experience. May Experience ONLY. 2 credits.
