MXP-126 Coffee Culture: Past to Present, Farm to Cup


Students will be introduced to both economic and historical analysis in this interdisciplinary course that offers engaged learning experiences to students with SC-based field trips. This course explores coffee culture by focusing on its histories and consumption in different localities. We will consider past and future characteristics of the international coffee market, different impacts on people along the supply chain from farmers to cappuccino drinkers, the role of coffee in social movements, and its bitter-sweet legacy so far. May Experience ONLY. 2 credits.
