EES-202 Methods in Earth and Environmental Sciences An introduction to various field and laboratory methods used in the Earth and Environmental sciences for studying our natural world as a complex, evolving, integrated, and cyclic system. The course will cover safety protocols; field observations at various scales; field sampling and instrumental analysis of Earth resources (chemistry of water, soil, minerals, rocks etc.); landscape analysis using geospatial data, and map techniques; data evaluation and manipulation; analysis and synthesis of results and report writing. Requires visits to local field sites. 4 credits.
