ENG-228 Writing the Novel

GER: TA (Critical, Analytical Interpretation of Texts)
Prerequisite: any first year writing seminar
This course investigates the various so-called German Language Islands, or isolated areas, with German as the main language, in the US and beyond such as Pennsylvania Dutch, Texas German, and Namibian German. Students will work with resources and online corpora in order to research and recognize the differences between these German dialects and Standard German. All lectures and assignments are in English. 4 credits.
