MUS-103 Introduction to American Folk and Country Music GER: VP (Visual and Performing Arts) The Introduction to Folk and Country Music traces the development of North American music from its roots from the British Isles, the impact of enslaved African peoples, and the development of distinct musical styles as the music spread across the United States. The contributions of European immigrants, African-Americans, Hispanics, Franco-Americans, and Native-Americans on creating the unique styles of music of North America will be explored. 4 credits.
