ANT-306 Human Osteology & Paleopathology GER: NE (Humans and the Natural Environment) This course will provide students with a deeper dive into one specialization of Biological Anthropology, which is currently offered at the 200 level in the department. It may overlap somewhat in content with Biology courses, including Human Anatomy, although this course will focus on identification of human remains that are generally fragmentary or disarticulated, as would be expected in forensic or archaeological contexts. In addition, this course will discuss the human cultural aspects that may result in changes to bone, such as zoonotic diseases associated with animal domestication, or endemic human diseases associated with urbanization. 4 credits
