MUS-079 Bluegrass Ensemble

The Furman Bluegrass Ensemble performs music ranging from old-time Appalachian, country blues, traditional bluegrass, to progressive acoustic music. String instrumentalists (violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, mandolin, and banjo) and vocalists interested in traditional American music are encouraged to participate. The ensemble meets for 1 hour per week for a coaching with the instructor. Instrumentalists must provide their own instrument. Reading music notation is not required. The ensemble is made up of both music majors and non-majors. 0 credits.
