FYW-1330 The Impact of the College Environment on Health

GER: FYW (First Year Writing Seminar)
This course will incorporate perspectives from public health, psychology, sociology, and education to examine how college environments affect health. It will emphasize developing students’ writing, critical thinking, and rhetorical skills, using the topic of health in the college environment as a context. While a conventional departmental course focuses on discipline-specific content, this class is interdisciplinary, writing-intensive, and tailored to help first-year students develop academic writing skills while exploring how their new college environment impacts their health. 4 credits
