GER: FYW (First Year Writing Seminar)
In this writing course, students will analyze health news and media stories by comparing them to research articles to assess reporting accuracy and its health impact. Students will write and revise three types of papers: an opinion paper presenting a personal viewpoint on a health news, a critique paper evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of health-related media and research, and a research report based on original investigation. This course emphasizes critical evaluation and effective communication of health information. 4 credits.
